Question
What happens to a patient's medications when a practitioner transfers to another Jane account?
Answer
Yes, active medications can transfer between Jane accounts, but only as part of a Jane to Jane transfer that includes charts. Medication history does not transfer.
- Only active medications transfer. Medication history stays in the original account.
- Imported medications arrive with a pending status, so the receiving practitioner can review them and mark them active or inactive.
Important Notes
To include medications in a transfer, the source account owner selects the Patient Medications checkbox on the Begin Data Replication page. See our guide on Jane to Jane Chart Transfer (Data Transfers) for a full breakdown of the steps.
