Question
What's the difference between the standalone Google Analytics integration and the Google Tag Manager integration?
Answer
The two integrations serve different purposes and send different levels of data to Google.
The standalone Google Analytics integration shows you how patients are moving through your booking site, but it doesn't connect that activity to revenue data.
The Google Tag Manager integration fills that gap. It sends detailed conversion data to Google, including the exact value of each transaction, the treatment or service booked, the clinic location, and the marketing channel that drove the booking.
Supporting Information
- The standalone Google Analytics integration only captures data from patients who have consented to cookie tracking. The Google Tag Manager integration captures a fuller picture of conversions regardless of cookie consent status.
- You can use one or both integrations at the same time. They work independently of each other and don't affect one another.
