Can I receive inbound faxes through my Documo integration with Jane, and will I be notified when one arrives?
Answer
Yes, and how you receive them depends on whether Documo IDP is set up.
- Without Documo IDP set up, inbound faxes can only be viewed in Documo, not in Jane.
- With Documo IDP (Intelligent Document Processing), inbound faxes arrive in a Documo workspace and can be filed directly into a patient's chart in Jane as a draft entry. Check out our guide on Setting Up Inbound Fax with Documo IDP to get started.
- Outbound faxes work differently: they're sent from Jane through one connected Documo user (the one whose API key is used to connect the integration). All outbound faxes come from that single account, regardless of who sends them.
- For inbound filing with Documo IDP, each staff member authorizes their own connection between Documo and Jane the first time they file a document, so multiple staff members can file documents using their own connections.
- Each Documo user can subscribe to specific fax numbers to receive an email notification when an inbound fax arrives on that number.
