We 💙 Year-End Planning
Between clients trying to use up their benefits, the 17 virtual holiday parties you RSVP’d to, and the bubbly beverages, End of Year can get a little… hectic. That’s why Jane tries to make it as easy as possible to get yourself organized to hit the ground running in the New Year:
- Get your staffing organized: block off vacation time and update staff schedules, now made even easier with Jane’s advanced shift scheduler!
- Help your patients with their year-end: whether it’s sending off appointment lists or closing old insurance policies, Janes got you covered.
- Inventory and Bookkeeping: update your fees, write off unpaid bills or spoiled products, and get everything you need to do your bookkeeping— all within Jane.

Here is what attendees were asking about Year-End Planning:
Q: When resetting Insurance policies, does the reset have to be done on the 31st Dec or can I do it earlier?
A: We generally recommend updating it on December 31st, but if the patient in question will not be coming in for any more appointments before the new year, you can feel free to update the policy before that.
Q: What’s the difference between deleting a Shift and using a Break to block off my Online Booking/Schedule?
A: Breaks will block off time and occupy that space with a “booked” message on the Online Booking site and a Break (+ customizable message) on the admin Schedule. If you delete a Shift, it will appear as a blank spot on the Online Booking site/Schedule. Both can do the trick, it would depend on which option you’d prefer for your patients and coworkers.
Q: Do we get an end of year payment total for our JaneApp subscription?
A: You are able to view your statement through your Jane Subscription tab in the Settings. You will have an option to view your billing history from there.
Q: Can we email a superbill as well? Individually and for the full year?
A: Yes! You are easily able to email an individual superbill to a patient directly from the Appointment Panel, using the dropdown arrow to the right of the Pay button. There is a way to export a batch of superbills for a patient, but it’s a little bit more involved. If you could send us an email to [email protected] we will be able to confirm the steps with you there.
Q: Can we change our Jane account owner?
A: Yes! If you head into your Settings and find Staff Permissions, the person currently listed as the owner will be able to do this. They can use the blue “Transfer Ownership” text next to the name of whoever is assuming Ownership to transfer that over.
