Thanks for your interest in sharing learnings and insights on clinic life with our Jane community. Here’s everything you need to know about Jane’s guest writer guidelines for Front Desk Digital.
What is Front Desk Digital?
Front Desk Digital is the go-to source for helpful tips and tricks to open, run, and grow your clinic inspired by our print magazine, Front Desk.
Front Desk Digital content is:
High-quality. We produce journalistic articles that dig deep into the specifics of what works to create successful health and wellness businesses, how to do it, and even what doesn’t work.
Discipline-agnostic. We champion the multi-disciplinary and want everyone in the allied health and wellness community to see themselves in our content. For example, if you run a chiropractic clinic, we want to see content that is relevant to massage therapists, physical therapists, etc. No matter which disciplines our audience works in or where they’re located, the content should apply to a general audience.
Actionable. Our content answers real questions that real practitioners are asking. Our goal is to be helpful above all else — that’s why we avoid marketing jargon and pushy sales language (including calls-to-action).
Who is our audience?
Our audience is health and wellness practitioners across many disciplines and stages of practice — namely, those opening, running, and growing health and wellness businesses.
From new graduates navigating their first professional steps to seasoned clinic owners, front desk staff, and practitioners, our readership represents a broad spectrum of experience and expertise within the health and wellness community.

The finer details
Successful guest contributions are comprehensive and educational posts that teach our readers something new. To hold all blog posts to this standard, your post must follow these guidelines:
-
Tone and voice: We aim to keep the blog positive, casual, and approachable! Jane’s community is filled with intelligent and curious people, but we cannot guarantee the experience level of our readers so please avoid overly technical language when possible.
-
Writing quality: Submissions must meet our quality standards and may be edited by our editorial team before publication.
-
Length requirement: Our target word count for articles is 1500-2000 words. You should also include a personal bio between 50-60 words.
-
Links: You can suggest up to 5 backlinks in the body of your post, as long as they are relevant and add value to the content. We will consult with our SEO agency on best practices and reserve the right to decline certain backlinks if it does not align with our SEO and brand strategy.
-
Visuals and multimedia: We reserve the right to choose images that are aligned with our visual brand. We also love getting real images from the real world.
All images must be high-quality and the dimensions must be at least 1920 x 1080 px. Please note that our creative team will add an illustrated element to the article’s main image. Also, please note that we do not take video or audio submissions.
What’s next?
-
Please submit a guest writer submission form with a detailed description of your Front Desk Digital article concept. Please do not send completed articles.
-
The Jane team carefully considers all entries and communicates whether it has been approved or not. We reserve the right to approve story ideas based on our brand standards and editorial calendar.
-
If approved, our team will provide you with feedback on the concept, a timeline for the draft and accompanying visuals, and the green light to go ahead and write!
-
Once the draft has been returned to Jane, we will review it and provide feedback for improvement (please note we will only provide one round of feedback).
-
After the feedback has been actioned, you will submit it back to us. At this point, the Jane team will make minor revisions if necessary, then publish to Front Desk Digital on the agreed-upon time.
-
As a final step, when the article goes live, our team will reach out to you with a link that you can share with your network.
While we appreciate all entries, Jane has final say over what appears on the blog and we can’t guarantee that we’ll publish your post.
We look forward to hearing from you!
