Our hearts are heavy here at Jane as we know these are stressful times for our community. We know that recently many of you have been forced to switch to online appointments only, or to temporarily close your practice.
Support has always been the heart of what we do here at Jane, so our team has been quickly switching gears and doing a lot of brainstorming on how we can be as helpful as possible.
We have decided to put several development projects on hold so that we can reallocate the resources to features that can help you manage during this crisis. We are looking into easier ways of communicating to your patients, cancelling appointments, as well as an easier way to bring your practice online with Telehealth.
We will let all of the Jane community know when each new feature is released.
Below you’ll find information on some of the upcoming features we are working to get out to you as quickly as we can, as well as helpful guides and resources we hope can be of benefit to your team.
Please reach out and say hello if you have any questions.💙
We hope you’re taking care,
The Jane Team
Go Online with Jane’s Telehealth Feature for Free
We know Telehealth has become increasingly urgent during the ongoing measures being implemented in response to COVID-19. With this in mind, we have decided to reallocate our development resources to significantly bump the release of this feature. We are hoping to roll out a basic version of this feature in the next couple of weeks, and we will waive the additional fee for use as clinics manage the effects of COVID-19.
In the meantime, here’s a handy guide document that reviews how to set up Telehealth services with our Physitrack integration in Jane:

Other Telehealth options that are being used by our clinics:
Doxy: https://doxy.me/pricing (offers a free version)
VSee: https://vsee.com/pricing/ (Basic plan $49/mo)
Zoom: https://zoom.us/healthcare (HIPAA/PIPEDA version starts at $200/mo)
New Filter for Mass Email Communication
We’ve added a new filter to the Patient List report to allow for narrowing down your contact list by Appointment Date. This will allow for better scoping of your patient list in order to send out communications to the appropriate group. The Appointment Date filter allows you to select only patients who have had a scheduled visit during a certain date range (3 months in the past to all future dates for example).
You can learn more about using the Patient List report here:
If you are needing to send out email communications to your patients, you’ll want to use an email service like MailChimp. We cover how to export a contact list from Jane, and how to import the list and send a new email in MailChimp inside this handy guide:

Generally we recommend Mailchimp as it’s one of the bigger names out there, but a fellow Jane user has brought to our attention a smaller company that has offered their program for free for 3 months to Healthcare Institutions in respond to COVID-19. They’re called MailerLite— here’s more information on MailerLite.
Cancellation Message Now in Email Notification
We’ve added some new options for custom language in your “Cancel with notification” email to make cancelling appointments easier. You can now add more detail into the body of the cancellation notification that will be sent to patients to explain the temporary pause of in-person treatments.
You can add in this custom text using Jane’s language system in Settings > Language. This text will appear in the body of every cancellation email.
You can find all the details on this here: Cancelling and Tracking Appointments due to COVID-19
