If your clinic uses a HICAPS terminal, you’ll be happy to know recording your HICAPS payments in Jane is a breeze!
To get started, you’ll want to head to your Settings, then Payment Methods, and select New Payment Method. Here, we’ll create HICAPS as a payment method to be used when checking out a patient.
Once you’re done creating your new HICAPS payment method, be sure to click Save.
Perfect! Now, let’s take a look at how you would use this in practice.
When it’s time for your patient to pay for their visit, you’ll head through the usual payment workflow by clicking Pay in the appointment panel.
As Jane will automatically bring up any outstanding balances here, you may want to deselect any additional treatments or products that may be listed to ensure you’re applying the health fund coverage to the applicable appointment only.
On the Receive Payment page, you’ll select Add Payment Method and select HICAPS.
In the amount field, you’ll want to enter how much is covered by HICAPS, and then select a second payment method to cover the gap payment. It should look a little like this:
From here, you can go ahead and complete the transaction as normal by clicking Pay.
And Voila! You’ve recorded your HICAPS coverage in Jane. In terms of reporting, you’ll be able to see a breakdown of all HICAPS transactions in your Transactions Report.
