How to Set a Practitioner's Initial Treatment in Practitioner Search

Staff Access Level: Full Access and Above, or Practitioner/Front Desk and Practitioner (Limited) for their own profile

A practitioner's initial treatment is the appointment type patients see when browsing Practitioner Search. Setting this to the right treatment ensures new patients book the most appropriate session for a first visit.

Instructions

To set a practitioner's initial treatment in Practitioner Search, follow these steps.

If you have Full Access or above

  1. Go to Settings > Practitioner Search.
  2. Locate the practitioner you'd like to update in the opt-in menu.
  3. Select the preferred treatment from the practitioner's initial treatment drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save.

If you are a practitioner setting your own initial treatment

  1. Go to your Staff Profile.
  2. Click Edit/Settings.
  3. Click Practitioner Search.
  4. Select your preferred treatment from the initial treatment drop-down menu.
  5. Click Save.

What to Expect

The updated initial treatment will appear in Practitioner Search within 3 hours of saving. Patients browsing your profile will see this treatment and its available times when considering booking with you.

Important Notes

  • Choose a treatment that's appropriate for a first visit, such as an initial consultation or your most commonly booked new patient appointment type.
  • If you offer sessions of different lengths, we'd recommend selecting a 60-minute session or your most frequently booked appointment type for new patients.
  • Only treatments with online booking enabled will appear as options in the initial treatment drop-down menu.
