Welcome to the guide for our integration with Google Business Profiles. This integration gives you access to the Reserve with Google feature that links your Jane online booking site to your Business Profile with Google so patients can easily find and connect with your practice.

What does Reserve with Google do?
When you set up Reserve with Google, your Business Profile that patients see on Google Search or Maps will include a Book Online button that takes them directly to your Jane Online Booking Site.
On mobile devices, patients can also see a list of services at your clinic that are available to book online.
Matching your information in Jane and Google
To use the integration, you’ll first need a Business Profile with Google that you own and manage. If you have more than one location in Jane, then you’ll need a separate Business Profile for each Jane location you’d like to integrate.
Your Business Profile will need the following:
▶ A clinic name, address, and phone number that matches your information in Jane
To check your Business Profile information, head to your Business Profile Manager.
Next, click Edit profile.
From here, you can check your business name and your phone number.
When you scroll down to the Locations and areas section, click the pencil icon next to Business location.
You’ll want to check that the Show business address to customers toggle is selected.
In Jane, you’ll want to check the following:
▶ Your location address and phone number is displayed on your online booking site and matches your Google Business Profile
To check your information, head to Settings > Locations. You’ll be able to see your address and whether your location is listed in online booking.
If you need to make adjustments, click Edit next to your location.

To check whether online booking enabled, head to Settings > Online Booking > Online Booking Policy
▶ Your clinic name matches your Google Business Profile
To check your clinic name in Jane, head to Settings > Clinic Info
Enabling Reserve with Google
Head to Settings on the top blue bar and then select Integrations from the menu to the left. Scroll down to Reserve with Google and click Manage.
Once you check off the box confirming that your clinic’s name and address match your Business Profile in Google, you can toggle on Reserve with Google. Jane will pass along your latest information including services you offer and automatically enable booking functionality on Google.
Once the integration is live, you’ll see a Book Now button when viewing your Business Profile. Jane will share a list of treatments that are bookable online with Google, and patients can see these when they view your Business Profile on their mobile device. Treatment lists are currently unavailable on desktop devices.
The integration can take 1-3 business days to take effect, so don’t worry if you don’t see a Book Now button on your Business Profile immediately. Who can use the integration?
To use this integration, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
- A Business Profile with Google that matches your Jane name and location
- One of the following pricing plans in Jane
- Legacy Plans that include Online Booking
- Practice Plans
- Thrive Plans
- Your Jane Online Booking Site is publicly available, meaning that your Online Booking Policy in Jane is set to Online booking allowed.
- Located in Canada
- Be a Google approved clinic.
Additionally, Google has specific criteria for the names of treatments or services:

Service names must follow proper capitalization and punctuation according to local grammar and may not contain emojis or emoticons.

The name or description also can’t contain promotional content, URLs, email addresses, or phone numbers.

Service descriptions must be descriptive and accurately reflect the service the clinic is providing.
To edit your treatment names (if needed), head to Settings, select Treatments, Classes & Group Appointments on the menu to the left, and click Edit next to the treatment whose name you’d like to change.

Can patients book directly through Google?
No, patients can’t book directly through Google but they can get to your online booking page from Google with just one click!
How long does it take for your Business Profile with Google to update your services when you edit the information in Jane?
Just like when you set up the integration for the first time, it can take between 1-3 business days for information to update in Google after you change it in Jane.
What information does Google receive from Jane?
The following info is collected as a requirement for the integration: clinic name, address, treatment names, and treatment prices and descriptions. Jane will also notify Google when a patient completes a booking, without sharing any personal information about the patient.
Can I see which appointments have been booked by customers who visited my online booking site from my Google business profile?
Yes, you can see this info in two different places.
Appointments booked using the integration will have a note in the Booking Info section of the appointment panel.
When you export the Appointments report, you’ll see a Referral Source column which shows how the patient landed on your online booking site, so if you see Reserve with Google in that field, it means your patient used the integration.
Is it possible to hide certain treatments from the service listing in Google?
No, if the treatments are bookable online, they will appear in the service listing.
Do treatments that aren’t bookable online appear in the Service listing?
No, treatments that aren’t bookable online won’t show up.
Can I hide the price of a treatment from the listing?
While you can hide the price on your Jane online booking site through the treatment settings, if the price of a service is shown on your Jane online booking page, then it will be visible in the service listing in Google. There isn’t a way to have Display Price on Online Booking Pages toggled on through your Jane online booking site, but off on the Google listing.
What if I have multiple clinic Locations in Jane but just one Google Business Profile?
Great question! Google recommends having a unique Business Profile for each of your locations. We will then match the location in Jane to the Business Profile in Google.
What if after 1-3 business days the Reserve with Google button isn’t showing up on my Google Business Profile?

I don’t want my address visible on my online booking site or Business Profile. Can I still use the integration?
While you won’t be eligible for the integration, you can still manually add a website link to your Google Business Profile.
Start by heading to your Google Business Profile and click the blue Add Website text to the right.
Next, enter the URL for your Jane Online Booking Site and click Save.
All done! While the button won’t say Book Online, it will be on your Google Business Profile when customers find your clinic on Google Search or Maps and will take them directly to your Jane Online Booking Site.
