Jane's Guide

Here's all the help you need to use Jane.

A Message from Ali on Jane’s Practitioner Search

Hi everyone — I’m Ali, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Jane.

If you’ve seen the recent updates about Jane’s Practitioner Search, you might be wondering what this is, why we’re testing it, and most importantly — what this means for you.

I want to share the thinking behind what we’re doing, how we’re approaching it, and where your voice fits in.

At Jane, we’re always looking for ways to help the helpers — and that means helping you stay as busy as you’d like to be, while also making care easier to access for patients in your community.

Over the years, we’ve heard from both sides of the care circle:

  • Practitioners have asked us for support in filling last-minute openings and growing their client base
  • Patients have asked for a way to quickly find trusted care when they need it most — not in weeks, but in hours or days

We believe Jane is in a unique position to thoughtfully bridge that gap — and do it in a way that puts you first.

What We’re Building — And What We’re Not

Jane’s Practitioner Search isn’t a directory or a marketplace — at least not in the way you might expect. There are no ratings, no reviews, and no “top results.” Just real-time availability, based on your clinic’s existing online booking setup.

  • Participation is completely optional
  • Clinics have full control over whether or not they appear
  • Bookings happen through your existing flow, so you remain the trusted provider
  • We’re not selling data, ranking clinics, or putting you in competition with peers

Think of this as a lightweight, opt-in visibility tool — not a marketing play or a grab at ownership over your relationships.

Why Squamish & the North Shore?

We started small — with a focused pilot in Squamish, BC. It’s the ideal area to learn: a tight-knit, collaborative, care-rich community with lots of same-week booking demand.

This approach gave us space to test in a real-world setting without overwhelming anyone. We’ve been watching closely, asking for feedback, and holding ourselves accountable to the experience we want this to be.

Now, we’re bringing Practitioner Search to Jane’s hometown in Vancouver’s North Shore, and what we learned in Squamish is already shaping how that’ll look.

What Comes Next?

We’ve settled on Vancouver’s North Shore as the next location after Squamish, with plans to continue to expand to more locations in the future. With each expansion, we’ll start with conversations — not code. Nothing moves forward without the support of local clinics.

That’s always been Jane’s approach: listen, build carefully, and prioritize trust over speed.

Your Voice Matters

This is just the beginning, and we want your feedback. What would make this truly helpful for you? What gives you pause? What should we do differently?

If you’d like to share your thoughts, you can do that here.

At Jane, our mission is to help the helpers — and our promise is to do that in a way that’s always human, thoughtful, and genuinely useful. We’re building this with care, and your insight helps us do it better.
