Importing from GlossGenius

Coming from GlossGenius, we’ve successfully brought over Patients, Past + Future Appointments and Products. Below you’ll find step-by-step instructions for how you can export your data when you’re feeling ready to make the switch to charting, billing and booking in Jane 💭

What can we import?


Exporting your Patients from GlossGenius

To export your patient list from GlossGenius, please follow these steps as outlined in their guide:

  • Log in to your GlossGenius account.
  • From the side menu, select Clients.
  • Tap the three dots in the top-right corner ( ••• ).
  • Choose Export Clients.
  • GlossGenius lets you export this report as a CSV file (or they can email it to you) — exactly the format we’ll need to bring it into Jane 🚀

Exporting your Appointments from GlossGenius

To export your past & upcoming appointments from GlossGenius, please follow these steps as outlined in their guide:

Note: There are steps listed in their guide for both the Mobile and Desktop versions of GlossGenius 💡

  • Log in to your GlossGenius account.
  • On the left-hand side, click Insights > Reports.
  • Click Appointments.
  • Now, on the right-hand side, you can enter your date range for the report. If you are part of a Team account, you may be prompted to select team members or All Staff.
  • After you’ve selected your date range, click download Report in the bottom right-hand corner OR select the email option and GlossGenius will email you a copy of your appointment report in a CSV format.

Exporting your Products from GlossGenius

To export your product list from GlossGenius, please follow these steps as outlined in their guide:

  • Log in to your GlossGenius account.
  • Click on Insights in the left-side menu, then click on Reports.
  • Select the Inventory Report from the list of available reports.
  • Choose the desired reporting period (e.g., day, quarter, year, or a custom range).
  • Click Send to have the report emailed to you as a PDF or CSV file. You should also have the option to download this report directly.

Exporting your Charts from GlossGenius

We actually have not seen this data set from GlossGenius before 🔎

They do, however, mention on their website that you can reach out to the Support Team from GlossGenius directly for data export requests if something is not directly available to you. If you can obtain the chart export from GlossGenius, we can then review and see if it can be imported into Jane.

Uploading Your Data into Jane

To ensure that your data is uploaded to the correct account, and for security reasons, we do not accept patient data via email. You can upload the files to us in the Settings > Import Data > Schedule Import area.

GlossGenius Billing Data

When moving over from another software to Jane, the one thing we like to make note of is the fact that we can’t import billing data. This type of data is quite complex and does not transfer between software, as each software formats this data differently. It’s best to keep any records you need on hand securely outside of Jane, but we can help guide you through how to manually transition your patient credits and receivables to Jane.


We’ve leveraged our experience with various software imports, along with official guides from other software providers, to create this comprehensive resource for transitioning to Jane. For questions about downloading your data, we recommend first reaching out to your software provider, as they’re the experts on their system.
