Importing from Owl

Here’s some info on moving your data over from Owl to Jane.

Exporting your Clients and Sessions from Owl

So coming from Owl, we’ll need you to upload your patient export with as much detail as possible and all your past and future sessions. The Client list can be exported using the Client Export and the Sessions using the Session Export from the Dashboard. Don’t forget to export your future sessions as well as your past appointments.

Owl Charts

Unfortunately Owl doesn’t offer a batch export of your charts. You probably know that you can export each individual chart to PDF one client at a time, which is time consuming, but seems to be the only option for exporting your client charts offered by Owl.

You can export these PDFs one at a time and then upload them to Jane using the file/image upload feature in Jane.

It looks like Owl also offers a “retirement plan” which I believe will allow you to retain access to your records over a longer period of time for a lower rate. They recommend you contact them for pricing, and seem to be very committed to data liberation and ownership as a staple value. If you are able to retain access to your charts for a nominal rate or at no charge, you might consider transitioning your charts in the same way you with paper files, where you transition them a day at a time as clients come in for treatment. Owl Billing Data

We don’t import billing information as there are formatting issues between the two systems.

Uploading into Jane

To ensure that your data is uploaded to the correct account, and for security reasons, we do not accept patient data via email. You can upload the files to us in the Settings > Schedule an Import area.
