Does the Practitioner Need to Join First, or Can the Client Start the Call?

Question

Does the practitioner need to join the Telehealth call before the client, or can the client join first?

Answer

Either party can join first. Here's what happens in each scenario:

  • If the client joins first: the client enters the waiting room and sees a message letting them know their practitioner will admit them shortly. A green badge appears on the appointment in the Schedule letting the practitioner know the client is waiting. When the practitioner joins, the Let in button will be active and they can admit the client.
  • If the practitioner joins first: the practitioner will hear a notification chime when the client enters the waiting room. The Let in button will turn blue and the practitioner can admit the client whenever they're ready.

The call remains open as long as at least one person is on the call. Either party can join up to 1 hour before the appointment and up to 1 hour after.
