Can I move some of my staff to Jane Payroll now and add the rest later?

For employees, no. All employees need to move to Jane Payroll at the same time.
Running employee payroll across two systems causes significant problems. Jane Payroll automatically remits source deductions (income tax, CPP, and EI) to the CRA and generates T4s and T4As at year-end. If employee payroll is split across two systems, both would report and remit separately to the CRA, which can lead to duplicate remittances, mismatched CRA totals, and extra work to resolve later.
For contractors, there is more flexibility.
