What to Expect

The prior authorization details appear on the patient's insurance policy. You can add multiple authorizations to a policy as long as the date ranges don't overlap, so only one authorization can be active at a time. Authorization details can be viewed in the appointment panel's Insurance Info section, so staff can reference them when scheduling.

Important Notes

  • Prior authorizations don't currently appear in any reports. For now, we'd recommend reviewing authorizations regularly within each patient's Insurance Policy or in the appointment panel.
  • The visit tracker records visits by number, not by CPT units. If your clinic works with unit-based limits, you can use the notes field to track this manually.
  • If your clinic works across multiple disciplines that each require simultaneous active authorizations, a workaround is to create a separate policy for each discipline.
  • Jane doesn't send notifications when a prior authorization is close to expiring. We'd recommend reviewing authorizations regularly to stay on top of upcoming expiry dates.
