It’s important to us that Jane is accessible to all our users. Inclusivity is a key part of our culture and our product development process 💙
Below are a few places we have improved in Jane to help visually impaired users, and there will be more areas to come in the future. Our goal is to continuously improve the accessibility within Jane.
We’ve also included some Accessible resources your clinic or customers can utilize.
In the meantime, if you have any requests on how we could improve more, please email Jane with the title ‘Accessibility’ with your request. We would love to hear from you and how we can help your experience more using Jane.
Finding the colours hard to differentiate in your schedule? No problem. We’ve now added an accessibility mode in your schedule settings. 🎉
To turn this on, just click on the cog ⚙️ under your schedule.
And then turn the toggle on for Accessibility Mode.
When there is an error or a missed field, not only do we show the borders colour turn red, but we have also included an error icon and a message explaining what the problem is.
Schedule List View
For practitioners who use screen readers, displaying the schedule in list view could help screen readers easily pick or voice the schedule.
To turn list view on, head over to your Schedule and click on the top-right table button.
And voila! You have list view :)
Accessible Resources & Tools
Here are a few free resources and tools that may help with accessibility-related issues.
1️⃣ Colour Contrast Checker
Check your online facing treatment colour score with the Colour Contrast Checker on Google Chrome. This may be especially useful for clinics that would like to remain compliant with their local Accessibility laws.
2️⃣ Adjust your cursor settings
If it’s helpful, you’re able to adjust your cursor or pointer and most devices allow you to adjust this setting. For example, on a Macbook you can adjust the colour and size of your cursor by heading to System Preferences > Accessibility > Display and choose your fill colour or adjust your pointer size.
3️⃣ High Contrast Mode Extension
If you or a customer requires more contrasting colours, Google Chrome has a free downloadable extension called High Contrast. You can select from different colour schemes.
As always, feel free to connect with us at [email protected] if you have any questions!
