Instructions

To generate your AI Scribe chart draft, you'll need to select a chart template after your Telehealth appointment ends. What you see in the modal depends on whether you have any existing chart drafts with the AI Scribe smart SOAP note chart part.

If you don't have an existing chart draft

  1. When the call ends, select a chart template from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click Confirm.

If you have one or more existing chart drafts

If you have a chart draft that includes the AI Scribe smart SOAP note chart part, the modal shows two options: Add to draft entry and Create new chart entry, with Add to draft entry selected automatically.

📣 Heads up: Only chart drafts that include the AI Scribe smart SOAP note chart part will appear in the Draft chart entry dropdown. If you don't see a draft you're expecting, check that the smart SOAP note chart part has been added to that chart entry.

  1. When the call ends, select the draft you'd like to use from the dropdown menu.

  1. If you prefer to make a new entry, click Create new chart entry.
  2. Select a chart template from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Generate Summary.

To choose a template or draft later

  1. When the call ends, click Skip for now.
  2. When you're ready, go to the patient's profile and open the Chart tab.
  3. Click Generate summary in the notification box at the top of the charting area.
  4. Follow the steps above based on whether you have an existing chart draft.

What to Expect

Once you choose a template or chart draft, AI Scribe generates your summary. You'll see a notification in the upper-right corner of Jane when your chart draft is ready to review and sign.

Important Notes

  • You don't have to select a template right after the call. The transcript will be waiting in the patient's Chart tab whenever you're ready.
  • If you closed your browser before selecting a template, go to the patient's Chart tab and select one from there.
  • The dropdown menu only shows templates that include the AI Scribe smart SOAP note chart part. If you don't see the template you're looking for, check that the chart part is included in that template.

Once you've reviewed and signed your chart draft, you're all set!
