Highlight to Refine is an AI Scribe feature that lets you revise a chart note by describing the change you want, instead of manually editing the text yourself. It requires an AI Scribe subscription, Free or Unlimited. It works on any chart note, including ones that were never recorded or generated with AI Scribe.

Instructions

To refine a chart note using Highlight to Refine, follow these steps. Once complete, the highlighted portion of your note reflects the change you asked for.

  1. Highlight the portion of the note you want to change.
  2. In the Refine your note field, type instructions describing the change you want made.
  3. Click the up arrow icon to submit your prompt.
  4. Review the change made to the highlighted text.
  5. Click the undo icon to revert the change, the pencil icon to edit and refine again, or the checkmark icon to save the change.

What to Expect

Once you click the checkmark, the refined text replaces the highlighted portion of your chart note. You can highlight and refine other sections of the note as many times as needed before saving your chart entry.

On a note generated by AI Scribe, Highlight to Refine can reference the session's transcript for added context, for example, if you ask it to add something the transcript captured but the note missed. On a chart note that wasn't created with AI Scribe, there's no transcript to reference, so Highlight to Refine works from the note text alone.

Important Notes

  • Highlight to Refine works on any chart note, not only notes created with AI Scribe.
  • Highlight to Refine only has access to the text you highlight. Make sure you highlight the specific area you want changed.
  • Refining a note only updates that specific chart entry. It does not update the original prompt used to generate the note. If you'd like the change to stick around for future notes, head to your prompt and update it there.
  • If you navigate away from the chart entry while your note is being refined, you lose access to the Refine your note field and the undo option for that change. The refinement is still applied and saved to the chart entry automatically.
  • Refining a note doesn't count toward the 5 free notes per month for folks using AI Scribe Free. You can refine as many times as you'd like.
