What is a global prompt?

A prompt is a set of instructions that tells AI Scribe how to write your notes. It’s where you can describe the format you want, the sections to include, and any details that are specific to your practice or discipline.

AI Scribe uses two types of prompts and considers both when generating your notes.

Your Global Prompt is where you store instructions that apply to all your charts. You set it once in your staff profile, and AI Scribe uses it for every note it generates for you. It’s a good place for things like:

• Your discipline and preferred charting style
• Any standards or requirements you always follow
• Broad context about your practice

Your template prompts (or one-off chart entry prompts) are where you get more specific. You can use them for details that are unique to a particular treatment type or session.

How to edit your global prompt

From your Staff Profile, click the AI Scribe tab under your name.

You can choose whether to generate a prompt based on information in your staff profile (bio, location, and discipline) or create one from scratch.

When you’re finished editing and reviewing your Global Prompt, click Save.

Now, when AI Scribe is drafting your chart notes, it will take into account your:

• Global Prompt
• prompt in your template or one-off chart entry
• session transcript

Can I see another staff member’s Global Prompt?

No, you can only see your own Global Prompt.

Does the global prompt override or replace the prompt in your templates?

No, the global prompt isn’t meant to override the prompt in your chart templates or for a one-off chart entry. It’s meant to be a place where you can include any information that should be applied to all your charts that use AI Scribe. This frees up space in your template prompts to include information specific to a treatment, discipline, or one-off chart entry.

Does my Global Prompt only apply to charts that I write or all charts clinic-wide?

Your global prompt will apply to all of your chart entries that use AI Scribe, but it’s not clinic-wide. Each practitioner can have their own global prompt.

When I’m editing a prompt in my chart template, and I preview the note, does it take into account my global prompt as well as the template prompt?

Yes, AI Scribe looks at your global prompt and your template prompt when generating a chart draft. And this also applies to the note preview you’ll see when editing a prompt in one of your templates.
