A prompt is a set of instructions that tells AI Scribe how to write your chart drafts. It's where you can describe the format you want, the sections to include, and any details specific to your practice or discipline.

AI Scribe uses two types of prompts and considers both when generating your charts:

  • Your Global Prompt applies to all your AI Scribe-generated charts. You set it once in your Staff Profile and AI Scribe uses it every time it generates a chart draft for you.
  • Your template prompts (or one-off chart entry prompts) are where you get more specific for details unique to a particular treatment type or session.

Your Global Prompt is a good place for things like:

  • Your discipline and preferred charting style
  • Any standards or requirements you always follow
  • Broad context about your practice

Instructions

To set or edit your Global Prompt, follow these steps. Once saved, AI Scribe will apply your Global Prompt to every chart draft it generates for you.

  1. Go to your Staff Profile.
  2. Click the AI Scribe tab under your name.

The AI Scribe tab in a staff profile with a button to generate from profile or generate from scratch

  1. Choose whether to generate a prompt based on information already in your Staff Profile (your bio, location, and discipline) or create one from scratch.
  2. Edit your Global Prompt in the text field.
  3. Click Save.

What to Expect

When AI Scribe drafts your chart notes, it considers your Global Prompt, the prompt in your template or one-off chart entry, and the session transcript together. Your Global Prompt does not override your template prompts, it works alongside them.

Important Notes

  • Your Global Prompt applies to your chart entries only, so it's not clinic-wide. Each practitioner sets their own Global Prompt.
  • You cannot view another staff member's Global Prompt.
  • When you preview a chart draft while editing a template prompt, AI Scribe takes both your Global Prompt and your template prompt into account.
  • The Global Prompt is not meant to replace your template prompts. Use it for standing instructions that apply to all your charts, and use template prompts for treatment-specific or session-specific details.
