How to View and Manage Your Login Sessions in Jane

Staff Access Level: All levels (each user can only view and manage their own sessions)
Jane Plan: All plans
Add-on Required: No
Geography: Available in: 🌐 All geographies

Instructions

To view and manage your login sessions in Jane, follow these steps. Once complete, you'll be able to see every session tied to your login, including the device, browser, and activity recorded for each one.

  1. Go to My Account.
  2. Click Username/Password in the left sidebar menu.
  3. Click Manage Sessions.

The Username/Password page in My Account with the Manage Sessions link

Each session in your list shows:

  • The session status: Current, Active, or Ended
  • The date and time you signed in, and when the session was last used
  • How you signed in
  • The browser and operating system used for that session
  • The IP address and device ID associated with that session

The Manage Sessions list showing the status, sign-in date, browser, operating system, IP address, and device ID for each session

From this screen, you can:

  • Click End Session next to a session to end that one session
  • Click End All Sessions at the top of the list to end every session at once
  • Click View Activity next to a session to review the actions taken during it

📣 Heads up: Ending a session signs that device out of Jane immediately, but it does not change or deactivate your password. If you don't recognize a session, end it right away and update your password to secure your account.

🩵 Jane Tip: Jane emails you whenever your login is used on a new device for the first time. If you don't recognize the sign-in, you can end that session directly from the link in the email.

Reviewing Your Activity

Clicking View Activity shows the actions taken during that specific session. While you can see this in the Activity Log as well, the Activity Log will filter by date range and user, but won't show you the activity associated with each session.

For example, if you were concerned that someone other than yourself accessed your profile, using the session log will help you to understand what activity occurred during a session that wasn't yours.

Important Notes

  • You can only view and manage your own sessions. Staff members cannot end sessions on behalf of a patient or another staff member. For assistance (for example, in the event of a security issue), please contact us.
  • If a patient needs help ending a session and can't do so themselves, they'll need to reach out to their clinic for assistance. The clinic can then contact us, but we would need the clinic's authorization to access the account in order to assist.
