When two patient profiles are merged, secure message threads are handled differently depending on which profile is designated as the primary profile.
- Secure message threads from the primary profile remain unchanged.
- Secure message threads from the non-primary profile are archived. Archived threads are still visible to the practitioner, but the patient won't be able to access or reply to them.
If you need to share content from an archived thread with the patient, copy the text or take a screenshot and paste it into a new secure message thread using the patient's primary profile.
If the profiles are un-merged later, the archived threads return to their original state.
