Paperwork might not be everyone’s favourite part of a visit, but with Jane, it can feel a little less daunting. If your patient hasn’t had a chance to finish their form ahead of time, you have the option to let them complete it themselves in person or help by filling it out on their behalf. Both choices are thoughtfully designed to keep things simple, secure, and accurate, so you can spend less time on forms and more time supporting your patients.
Let’s dive in and explore the two choices Jane offers when you click the Fill Out button for an Intake Form:
Pass Device to Patient:
Select this option if your patient is present and would prefer to fill out their own form directly on your device (for example, on a clinic tablet).
To maintain patient privacy, Jane will automatically log you out of your staff profile before the patient begins. This ensures that the patient cannot access any other patient’s data or staff-only information while they are completing the form.
Once the patient hits the blue Submit Intake Form button in the bottom right corner of the screen, you can log back in as a staff member again. Jane records the form was completed by the patient when you’re viewing the Questionnaire portion of the intake form within the Chart area.
Continue as Staff Member:
Choose this option if you, as the staff member, are filling out the form on behalf of the patient. Jane will open a separate window and let you know that you are completing the form as a staff member on and for which patient.
After the form is submitted, you’ll see a preview of the form, where it can be printed.
Jane will record that the form was completed by a staff member, and not the patient. This helps maintain a clear record of who provided or entered the responses.
This information will be visible within the patient’s Chart.
In addition when you’re viewing the completed intake form directly after it’s signed or when you click on the blue text within the Intake Forms widget of their profile.
