Jane's Guide

Here's all the help you need to use Jane.

Time Zones, Big Data and Your Import

So you’re in another time zone than Jane HQ or you’re providing a large data set, and you’re wondering how that affects your import or what changes you need to make for that.

Good questions! We’ll go through a couple of scenarios where things might change, but on our end and there’s nothing for you to worry about.

I’m in a Different Time Zone, How Does This Work?

When you’re scheduling your import, you’ll choose two dates:

  • When you plan to upload your data into Jane
  • When you’d like your data import ready to review

Even though Jane’s team works in Pacific Standard Time (PST), both dates you select are based on your own local time zone, not ours.

Here’s what that means in practice: aim to have your files uploaded by around 6:00 p.m. your local time (end of day for your practice) on your selected upload date. From there, your import is typically ready to review within 48 hours 😊

Note: Late uploads or complex imports may take longer 👀

Keep in mind, depending on your time zone, your import may complete a little later in your local time than you’d expect. It’s best to build in a day or two of buffer to give us room to finish it.

Big Data

If you’re a large clinic or you have plenty of historical data for us to import, we may need extra time depending on what software you’re coming from.

If we’re importing, for example, thousands of patient profiles, 50k+ historical appointments or charts, this can take our import team extra time in order to go through your data and make it importable to Jane. Please allow extra time when importing large data sets.
