Jane's Guide Here's all the help you need to use Jane.

Jane's Monthly Newsletter (December)

Hey Jane community,

We’re finishing up this year with a roundup of everything we’re excited to bring you in the new year. So, here’s one final roadmap update — wrapped up nicely for you:

  • Patient and Client Time Zones [Live]

There’s nothing worse than showing up for an appointment an hour too early because you’ve got the time zone wrong. Good news, Jane now lets your patients set their local time zone, so your patients can view and book appointments and get reminders in their own time zone. Currently, the Patient Time Zones feature is enabled automatically, but we plan to make it optional soon. We’re hoping this will lead to fewer missed appointments and less time spent managing last-minute changes to your schedule, so let us know if you have any feedback on how it’s working for you.

  • Supervision [Live]

We made chart reviews easier to manage with supervisory relationships, chart tracking, and easy co-signing — all without leaving Jane. But this feature actually comes with a few bonus features: to avoid the email tag for feedback, you can now give and receive it directly in chart entries with Feedback Loops. Plus, your Practitioner Dashboards now come with clickable links to charts needing attention. And because we know you love a good sneak peek, here’s what’s next: optional supervisor signatures and assigning multiple supervisors to staff. Those are coming soon, so stay tuned for more updates in the new year!

  • Treatment Add-Ons [Beta]

If you’re using a workaround for add-ons to your treatments, hold on to your socks — Treatment Add-Ons is now ready for you to explore. It’s currently available for administrative bookings, but we’re already working on expanding it to your patients for online booking. We can’t thank you enough for your feedback so far — we’re continuing to use your input to help shape what’s next. Keep sharing your thoughts with us here , and we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

  • Timesheets [Beta]

We built Timesheets to make it a little easier for you to manage and pay your administrators by allowing staff members to log their hours worked in Jane. And, thanks to your feedback, we’re working on some updates to make time tracking even easier for your team. Soon, staff will be able to clock-in to start their day and clock-out when they’re done. Plus, staff will be able to clock in and out multiple times a day — perfect for managing split shifts, breaks, or the mid-day sick kid pickup. Haven’t shared your thoughts yet? We’d love to hear how we can further enhance Timesheets, share your feedback here!

  • Improved Telehealth [Beta]

We’re looking to improve the experience of every telehealth call in Jane, regardless of device, bandwidth, or connection. You can access a new beta version of Jane Online Appointments from a new Settings area called Experimental Features. After the call, don’t be shy — share your rating and any feedback you have about the call quality. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, nothing changes on the pricing front: 1:1 calls will continue to be included in every plan, and pricing will remain the same for group calls. 💙

  • Voice-to-Chart [Coming soon]

We’re hearing our first AI-powered charting feature is speeding up charting by about 75% — so there have been lots of folks interested. We’re working hard to make Voice-to-Chart available to everyone who has signed up for early access and will be putting the sign-up experience in your hands in the New Year. If you haven’t yet, feel free to check out a demo and sign up for access, which will be $20 per user per month for now. We can’t wait to see what you think.

Honourable Mentions:

  • Insurance Policy Report Improvements: We’ve improved this report to make it easier to manage new insurance policies from patients. You can now filter for “Awaiting Review” to quickly find policies submitted via intake forms. A new “Next Appointment” column lets you focus on policies for clients with upcoming appointments. Plus, you can click directly into a policy to review details, run eligibility checks, or view associated claims.
  • Practitioner Dashboard Updates. We know from our Supervision beta that keeping up with charts that need attention can be a bit of a challenge for everyone. So, we’re making that a little easier with an update to your Practitioner Dashboards. Now, the Charts *pie chart will link directly to a filtered list — so with just one click, you’ll be able to hop straight to unsigned or unreviewed charts. These quick links will be available to *everyone with Dashboard access, not just folks using Supervision, so the whole team can stay on top of charting like pros.
  • Goodbye, Smart Previews: We made Smart Previews available for a small group of customers, but have now made the tricky choice to sunset this experiment so we can focus on the in-demand AI charting tool, Voice-to-Chart. A big thank you to those who participated in this experiment — we hope you enjoyed getting a taste of testing things out in Jane.

Keep up-to-date on everything that’s new in Jane with our Changelog!

Community Callouts

We are thrilled to introduce the next host of Jane’s Ambassador Office Hours, David Bruton Jr. — a former NFL player, Super Bowl champion (calling all Broncos fans!), physical therapist, and practice owner.

Join us for our first session of 2025, where we will dive into the popular “new year, new me” mindset — exploring what this idea truly means for practice owners and practitioners, and how effective goal setting can lead to a successful year ahead.
