Hey Jane community,
This month, we’re happy to get a few features and updates into your hands (and your patients’ or clients’ hands too!). Let’s start with…
(1) Receipts in the Patient/Client Portal
To reduce the requests coming from your patients to re-send their receipts, patients can now view and download their receipts whenever they need them — right from their patient portal!
These payment receipts are for product purchases or appointments, allowing your patients to:
- View a list of all their payment receipts and download individual receipts for each payment
- Filter by date to help find the receipts they need (especially during tax season!)
- Create a single PDF that includes all the receipts they need
These should provide enough detail for most primary claims in Canada but don’t include billing codes for our friends in the US. Good news though — this is something our team is looking to add down the line.

(2) 2-Step Verification Management
When it comes to the security of your account, it’s important to get your whole team on board. So, if you’re a Full Access user, you can now make 2-step verification (2SV) mandatory for all staff profiles in your Jane account.
In case you missed it, last year we added the option for you and your staff to add 2SV to your Jane login. This means that when 2SV is enabled, you’ll receive a one-time SMS code to your mobile phone that you enter in Jane each time you log in, after entering your password.
To get this set up in your account, you can head to Settings and select the new Security option from the menu on the left.

(3) Formatting Consents in Intake Forms
We know how important it is to clearly communicate the information your patients are consenting to. So, to give more flexibility in your consent messaging, we’ve added two changes to the Consents area:
1) Text formatting options in consent text boxes
This update will help improve readability, by giving you the option to organize and emphasize the information the way you’d like to, through:
- Bold, italics, and underline
- Embed links to outside information sources
- Bullet points
- Numbered lists
2) More acknowledgment types
We’ve added additional acknowledgment types, which let you choose what kind of response to collect from your patients before they complete their forms. You can now choose from three options:
- Must agree - the patient must agree to the declaration.
- Agree or Disagree - the patient can choose either the agree declaration or the disagree declaration.
- Acknowledge with Initials - the patient must enter their initials.

Honourable Mentions
- Memberships update: You can now update the price of memberships that have already been sold. So, if you’ve already sold a membership to your patient, you will no longer need to cancel and re-sell that membership if you’re changing the price.
- Supervisor support coming soon: We’re working on making it easier for supervisors to review and sign supervised staff members’ chart entries. The team is working hard to get this first edition into your hands so you can start saving time and stay on top of your supervision tasks. Keep an eye out. 👀
