Setting up your location for Google Reviews

As you’re receiving great ratings and feedback from your clients, you’re probably thinking: how can I share this online for potential clients to see? Wouldn’t it be amazing if they see these great ratings when they search for my clinic location?

Jane’s got you covered!

Before you do that, it’s important to note that some disciplines are not allowed to post reviews publicly. If you’re unsure of this, please consult with your governing body to confirm whether you’re able to publicly market patient testimonials.

Enable & Set up your location for Google Reviews

 

Okay great! Now that you’re certain you’re able to post testimonials for marketing purposes, let’s get started! When a client leaves you any star rating from 1-5, Jane’s Ratings & Reviews feature can suggest they also leave a review on your locations Google page.

To enable this suggestion, make sure you have the Ratings & Reviews feature enabled on your account. If you’re not sure how to do that, check out our guide for setting up Ratings & Reviews.

Once the Ratings & Reviews feature is enabled, you’ll also need to enable Google Reviews by checking off the box that says “Ask for Google Reviews”. If you’re unsure how to get here, you’ll want to be under your Settings, select Forms & Surveys and then beside Ratings & Reviews, click View.

Once the box is selected, you’ll see some additional set up on the screen.

First, we’re going to add Google’s Place ID to your clinic location. Each location has its own Place ID so you can follow these steps for each one. Let’s get started.

💡 You’ll just need your Google My Business setup. Here’s some information if you’d like to learn more about Google My Business for healthcare providers.

Add your Google Place ID

Under the Google Reviews section, you’ll see a list of every clinic location in your account.

To make it easy for you to find your location’s Place ID, simply click into the Search field here for the location and start typing your clinic location’s name. As you type, the autocomplete will help you search through Google to find the location.

Once you’ve found the location, click the name from the autocomplete and you’ll see your Place ID has been filled in for you. You can use the Preview button to make sure it’s linking to the correct Google page. Don’t forget to click Save at the bottom of the page to save your Place ID.

Customizing your Language for Different Star Ratings

It makes sense that you may want to personalize your message to your clients before their final “submission” to Google. The message you relay to your clients may be quite different for a 3-star rating, than a 5-star rating.

We’ve provided some default text for each option, but feel free to customize this here.

With this set up in place, after your patients leave an internal star rating, they have the option of leaving a Public Google Review or a Private Internal Review. If your patient selects to Open Google, they can leave a star rating and review on your clinics Google page. If they choose to Leave Feedback Privately they can submit an internal only comment for your practitioner. After submitting their Private Feedback, they still have the option to open Google and also post publicly.

What if you don’t find your clinic on Google? Make sure you’ve signed up for Google My Business to verify your business and you as the owner. You can find out more and sign up through Google’s Welcome to Google My Business guide.

💡If you prefer to add your Place ID manually, simply add a check to “Manually enter Place ID” and paste your Place ID into the appropriate field for your location.
