đź‘‹ Hey Jane community,
Behind every update at Jane is the same thought: how will this make life easier for you? Sometimes we do that with subtle changes, and sometimes we make a big splash. This month, we have a little bit of both…
Google Calendar Sync
We just made it easier to keep your entire schedule in one place. đź‘€
You can now pull your personal Google Calendar right into Jane. That means school runs, dentist appointments, or that afternoon you blocked off for yourself will sit right alongside your client bookings. No more mental juggling. No more “oops” double-bookings.
You can set this up right in your staff profile in the new Calendar section. Once everything is connected, any new events you add to your Google Calendar will instantly appear in Jane as “Busy” blocks on your schedule.
And, if you already use Jane’s calendar export to see your Jane schedule inside Google, both tools can work together to give you the full picture of your day.
đź’ˇ Quick heads up: Google Calendar to Jane updates are instant, but Jane to Google Calendar updates can take a little longer (sometimes up to 24 hours). So, for the clearest view of your time, we recommend treating Jane as your main calendar.

Relationship Management in Jane: Review of what we’ve built
When we first introduced the Relationships feature in Jane, the goal was simple: help families book, manage, and pay for care all in one place. Since then, your needs have grown, and Jane’s grown with you…
Over the past year, we’ve been making small, thoughtful changes to better support the real-life relationships that exist in a practice. These updates may have felt like quiet nudges, but together, they’ve added up to something bigger.
Here’s a look at what’s changed this year:
- You can now differentiate a patient from a contact. For caregivers and family members who help out behind the scenes, but aren’t receiving treatment themselves.
- Billing communications are more flexible. You can choose who gets receipts and balance reminders, whether that’s the patient or their assigned caregiver.
- Permissions are clearer. Patients now have visibility into who can book or manage appointments on their behalf, and the ability to update or remove those connections.
- Practitioners with limited access can now view and edit contact profiles tied to their patients — making it easier to support parents, partners, and emergency contacts.
- Clearer booking flow for patients. For patients booking online on behalf of someone else, we’ve added a clearer flow with a few extra prompts to help set up those relationships the right way from the start.
While these updates may not have been massive on their own, they were designed to quietly remove friction, reduce confusion, and bring more clarity to family management in Jane. So, we’d love to hear what you think so far. Share your thoughts here, and let us know what’s working, what’s confusing, and where we could keep improving.

Honourable Mentions
- 2-Step Verification: A good two-step can keep you on the dance floor… this one keeps you secure. We recently added two new ways to keep your Jane account secure: Authenticator App Codes and Recovery Codes. If you haven’t set up 2-step verification yet, we strongly recommend taking a few minutes to do it now. You only need to set this up once, and after that, your security tools are working in the background, quietly protecting your account, your team, and your patients’ information. Learn how to set it up.
- Secure Messaging updates: Conversations can now be started in your messaging inbox by using the blue New Conversation button in the center or by using the search bar and pencil icon in the upper-left corner.
