Hey Jane community,
Much of what we build at Jane is meant to quietly support your work behind the scenes. This month, we’re focusing on features that help tidy up workflows, give you a bit more flexibility, and create a better experience for your patients or clients.
Here’s a look at what’s new.
(1) AI Scribe (early access): a new home for recordings
If you’re using Jane’s AI Scribe feature for dictation and documentation, session recordings now have their own dedicated space in your account.
Instead of being saved to the chart, recordings now appear in a separate panel when you click the microphone icon. From there, you can:
- Play recordings
- Review transcripts
- Download or delete files
This change means your recordings will stay out of the chart, so they’re not officially part of the medical record. It also helps keep your chart entries clean and organized — something that can make a big difference in your day-to-day. A setting for automatic deletion is coming soon, so you won’t need to manage each file manually.

🇺🇸 (2) New ways to make repeat billing a bit quicker
We’ve added two billing updates for our friends in the US designed to help reduce admin time and make some everyday billing tasks feel a little less repetitive.
1️⃣ Add CPT codes to appointment types
If you tend to use the same CPT codes for a specific treatment, you can now add them right to the treatment setup in Jane. Jane will pop them into an appointment automatically when it’s booked, saving you that extra step.
You can set one code per treatment right now, and we’re working on support for multiple codes in a future update.
You can find all the details in our Treatment-Specific CPT Codes guide >
2️⃣ Carry forward billing info from a previous appointment
When entering insurance details, you can now choose to copy just the diagnosis or all the billing details from the last visit, whichever makes sense for your workflow. It’s a simple way to keep things moving, especially when follow-up care looks similar.
See how it works in our Re-booking Clients with the Same Insurance Info guide >
Honourable Mentions
- Secure Messaging: Jane’s Secure Messaging feature is in open beta and ready for you to enable in your Settings. It’s a feature we’re continuing to shape thanks to helpful feedback from the community. With Secure Messaging, you can send and receive 1:1 messages with your patients right in Jane, keeping everything in one secure, easy-to-access place.
