Chiropractic Practice Management Software: How Chiropractors Use Jane

June 03, 2026

Jane's Chiropractic Practice Management Software in action

Jane is a practice management software and EMR built for private practice, including chiropractic clinics. It brings scheduling, charting, billing, and payments into one connected system. To show how chiropractors actually use it day-to-day, we sat down with Ace Casiano, a Product Specialist at Jane and a chiropractor by training, to walk through the workflows his chiro colleagues ask about most.

Ace graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2017. Before that he owned a gym, and after practicing for a few years, made the move to Alberta and transitioned into a multidisciplinary setting. Then, in 2024, joined Jane. It’s rare to find a person who’s had experiences across all of these worlds as a business owner, chiropractor, and Jane team member, so, we wanted to share Ace’s unique perspective on how Jane can help chiros with their admin.

In this post, you'll learn how Jane helps chiropractic clinics:
- Automate intake, including collecting insurance information and credit cards on file, so your front desk isn't chasing paperwork.
- Track patient retention by practitioner and identify who hasn't booked recently, with a working call list ready to go.
- Bring scheduling, charting, billing, and payments into one place, so your team isn't switching between platforms and nothing falls through the cracks.

‘Can Jane automate my intake process’

One of the questions chiropractors ask is whether Jane can automate intake. You can set up your intake forms to send automatically before an appointment, and Jane shows you who has completed their forms and who has something outstanding.

That intake flow can also include a prompt to collect a credit card on file and insurance information, so your front desk isn’t tracking those things manually. And if a patient needs to add their card after the fact, you can do that any time from their profile.

‘How do I assess my patient retention?’

Getting a patient in the door once is a big win, then, getting them back is the next step.

In Jane, you can run an unscheduled patient report and filter by how long it’s been since someone’s last visit. Pull a list of patients who haven’t been in for six months, exclude no-shows and cancellations, and your front desk has a clear call list to work through. And if you’re a solo practitioner, or, the phone isn’t your thing, return visit reminders can be sent directly from Jane.

Ace tip: here’s one that surprises a lot of long-time Jane users. Default adjustments let you set a specific billing price for a specific patient so it applies automatically every time you bill them. If you have patients on special rates or packages, this is how you avoid manually changing the invoice at every visit.

‘How do I customize my charting and documentation workflow?’

Jane supports SOAP notes, custom templates, and phrase shortcuts you can build out to match how your clinic documents. If you’re coming from a platform like ChiroTouch and finding the ICD-10 search less intuitive, a few things to know: Jane uses a text-based search (type a condition term or the code directly), and building out a shortlist of your most-used billing codes as chart defaults can significantly reduce friction over time.

Also, once you’ve got a template you’re happy with, duplicating your note from the last visit and editing as needed is a great way to keep documentation straightforward.

Jane’s template library also contains a wealth of knowledge, with templates that come right from your chiropractic colleagues, so you likely don’t need to start from scratch.

Ace tip: if, for example, you loved ChiroTouch’s Macros, a practitioner has already built a similar template in Jane. Or, if you’re looking for a template complete with ICD codes, that exists too.

‘Does Jane have an AI Scribe for chiropractors’

Jane’s AI Scribe is great for follow-up appointments, but it’s an especially useful tool for longer appointment types like initial assessments, motor vehicle accident patients, and reassessments, where documentation is more involved. You record the session or dictate, and a draft note is generated for you to review and sign. You can start from a SOAP note template, a custom format, or build your own structure.

You always review and approve the note before it’s finalized.

Looking for a chiropractic SOAP note template? We can help with that.

‘How does Jane handle insurance billing?’

For clinics in Canada, Jane integrates with Telus eClaims, so you can submit directly within Jane for those insurers. For insurers that have their own separate portal (like Sun Life or GreenShield), you submit through their portal and then record the adjudication in Jane to keep your records in one place. If you’re in British Columbia, Jane also has integrations with Pacific Blue Cross and Teleplan.

For US-based clinics, Jane supports insurance billing workflows right within the platform. Our integration with Claim MD makes submitting claims and checking eligibility efficient and straightforward. With customizable codes, the ability to set default codes for specific patients or treatments, and insights for aging claims, the whole experience is designed to make billing a little simpler for your practice.

Ace tip: if you’re new to Jane, Jane offers complimentary Account Setup Consultations where our dedicated Support Specialists will help setup your account and customize it to work specifically for you and your practice.

‘I need reports to help me see the gaps in my business’

As a business owner, Ace knows the importance of accurate reports, “A crucial point of data for me as a business owner was always reporting. How were my associates performing? What patients were coming back and who wasn’t?” he says.

You can run a patient retention report by practitioner, which shows how many patients each associate has and how many are returning. Layered with the product performance report, you can see initial visits, subsequent visits, and what each provider is billing.

Everything in one record

A lot of chiro clinics are running on more than one platform: one for scheduling, one for documentation, one for billing. That means your team is switching between logins, data lives in different places, and things fall through the cracks.

Jane brings scheduling, charting, billing, and payments into one record per patient. Your front desk, your associates, and you are all working from the same place.
