You can now use Jane’s AI Scribe for your Telehealth sessions

May 29, 2026

product updates from May 2026

If you’ve been using Jane’s AI Scribe for chart notes, you’ve seen how much faster documenting your in-person appointments can be. We think the same should be true for your online appointments.

In our latest product updates newsletter, we shared how AI Scribe now supports 1:1 online appointments in Jane. You can now hit “Transcribe” while you’re on a call, and Jane will draft a chart note for you to review when the appointment is over.

But May was a big month for updates, and we shared a few more:

  • Online Package Sales are here, so patients can buy packages directly from your booking site
  • The Jane for Clients mobile app now supports wait list requests
  • Prior Authorization tracking is live for US accounts

💡 To make sure you’re always in the know about product updates like these, sign up for our monthly product newsletter, and we’ll send them directly to your inbox.

Here’s everything we shared in May’s newsletter. If you’re new to Jane and a certain feature or update has piqued your interest, reach out. We’d love to show you around.

And now, for the newsletter 🔽

AI Scribe for Telehealth is here

If you’re using AI Scribe for in-person appointments and wishing it worked for your virtual sessions too, this is the update you’ve been waiting for. 👀 AI Scribe on Telehealth AI Scribe now supports your 1:1 online appointments in Jane. You can start your telehealth session the way you always do, click Transcribe in your call window when you’re ready, and let Jane handle the notes in the background while you stay focused on your client. When the call ends, your draft chart note gets pulled together for you to review and sign.

With this update:

  • Your session transcript stays securely within Jane with no copying notes between platforms or storing transcriptions in third-party tools
  • Draft chart notes are generated automatically after your call, using the same templates you’ve set up for in-person visits or other custom templates you have
  • You can stop and start transcription as needed, and finish notes right away or come back to them later

There’s no extra cost to your AI Scribe subscription and AI Scribe Free users can also use it for telehealth sessions, with the usage counter visible before the call begins.

If you’ve been holding off on AI Scribe until it supported telehealth, now’s a good time to give it a try. Learn more and add it to your Jane account.

“I am loving the AI Scribe online. It’s saved me so much time and I actually get to listen and get into the flow with clients instead of typing and trying to follow along.” — Melanie, Emlyn Wellness 🇨🇦

You can now sell your Packages online

You can now let patients discover and purchase your packages directly from your Online Booking site.

Jane online packages

If offering packages is part of your clinic, you’ll know it’s often something you manage alongside everything else. We’ve been hearing more interest in bringing that experience into Online Booking, so we’ve been working on a way to support that.

Online Package sales are now available for clinics on **Legacy and Thrive plans using Jane Payments in Canada, US, and the UK.

This update lets your patients purchase packages in the same place they’re already booking appointments. This means you will no longer need to manually add packages to your patients’ accounts, and you can open up more revenue opportunities for your practice’s online booking site.

You’ll also notice that the Packages and Memberships section has been updated, with each now having its own space to make things easier to manage.

A quick note: this release is focused on packages. Memberships aren’t included just yet.

To get started, head to Settings → Packages in your account. If you have feedback, we’d really love to hear how this is working for you. You can share your thoughts through this form or reach out to our Support Team anytime. 💙

Clients can now join a wait list in Jane for Clients mobile app

For clients who want to get seen sooner, there’s one less step standing in their way. Clients can now join a wait list directly from the Jane for Clients mobile app. No need to hop over to their patient portal on the web or give your front desk a call. 🎉

waitlist on Mobile App

With a few taps, they can submit a wait list request within the same 30-day window they’re used to from the web. And if your clinic has automatic wait list notifications set up, clients can choose whether they’d like to hear from you by email, SMS, or both.

We hope it makes filling those last-minute openings a little easier for your clinic, and getting care a little more accessible for the people you see.

🇺🇸 Easier Prior Authorization tracking for insurance policies

If you work with insurance, you know how easy it is for authorization limits to slip through the cracks, especially when you’re managing multiple patients and visit counts across different plans.

Prior Authorization tracking

We’ve built prior authorization tracking directly into Jane so you can record date ranges, approved visit counts, and other authorization details in one place. Jane monitors those limits automatically and surfaces an “expiring soon” indicator when you’re getting close, right in the appointment panel, where it’s actually useful.

This update lets you:

  • Record and store prior authorization details on a per-patient basis
  • See visit counts and date ranges at a glance during scheduling
  • Replace expired authorizations so you can easily track and submit historical authorizations

We’re putting the finishing touches on this feature, and it will be available to all US accounts in the next week or two. Keep an eye on the What’s New area in your account where we’ll share an update.

Honourable Mentions

  • 🇺🇸 AI Assisted Claim Validations (experimental feature): Jane’s insurance product team is running a small pilot to gather feedback on a little idea we’re internally calling AI Assisted Claim Validations. The idea: you describe a rule in plain language (“Verify the initial treatment date is present on Medicare Chiropractic claims”) and Jane checks it automatically before every submission. No blocking claims, just a heads-up when something looks off. We’re looking for a handful of billing folks willing to try it early and tell us what you think. If this sounds like something that interests you, sign up here and we’ll be in touch.
  • Did you know that in April alone, over 265,000 Jane charts were created with the help of AI Scribe? If you’ve been curious about AI Scribe, that’s a lot of practitioners who’d probably tell you it’s worth it. Learn more and get started with AI Scribe.
