Jane Payroll runs on a 4-business-day schedule. To pay your team on a Friday, submit your payroll by the previous Tuesday.

Jane Payroll is available to Canadian clinics (excluding Quebec) on our Practice, Thrive, and Legacy plans. If you’re in the US and are interested in Jane Payroll, you can join our the waitlist for our US beta. Our team is working on bringing Jane Payroll to American clinics too.
You can turn Jane Payroll on in your Jane account. Just head to the Billing tab, then Payroll to activate the feature. You’ll see a new Payroll section appear in your account.
We do recommend moving your entire team over to Jane Payroll together. That way, you avoid managing two payroll systems, doubling your efforts, or duplicating CRA remittances.
Yes. You’ll just need to migrate your year-to-date payroll information from your previous software over to Jane. Then, you’ll have everything you need in one place to calculate deductions and issue year-end forms accurately. Our team can help guide you through that process.
Jane Payroll supports both employee and contractor pay, which makes it especially helpful if you have a mix of both on your team. Jane is built to support salaried pay, hourly rates, commission, and can even use a mix of these structures. You can set up different pay types and customize how each group of staff is paid, or mix and match across your team if needed.
Jane will generate and file T4s and T4As for all staff you’ve paid through Jane Payroll. This happens before the CRA’s end-of-February deadline. Staff can then access their own forms in their Jane accounts.
