Maybe you'd be a great fit for Jane's team.

Developer - JaneX

About the Role

Hi, I’m Alex Shevchenko, Senior Software Development Manager at Jane. I joined Jane about a year ago, and I lead a team focused on building AI-powered products within our Clinical group.

Our team builds AI features that are genuinely useful in a practitioner's day-to-day work. We've already brought products like AI Scribe to life, and now we're expanding into new AI-powered features that support clinics at scale.

We have a lot of senior folks who are great at setting direction, and right now we’re looking for people who are excited to roll up their sleeves, build, and grow into that next level over time.

You'll be working on real AI products used by thousands of practitioners, learning quickly, contributing meaningfully, and helping shape what AI in healthcare can actually look like in practice. I think that's pretty exciting.

What Impact We’re Looking for You to Make

  • Build and ship meaningful product features that improve how practitioners use Jane, taking ownership from idea to delivery and holding a high technical bar along the way

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product partners to align on goals, ask thoughtful questions, and move work forward with clarity

  • Navigate ambiguity with curiosity and initiative, seeking context and making progress without waiting for perfect direction

  • Pick up new technologies and approaches quickly, contributing to a team that's constantly exploring what's possible at the intersection of AI and healthcare.

  • Help ensure that what we ship is genuinely, measurably useful to practitioners, not AI for its own sake, but AI that makes a real difference in people's day-to-day work

  • Grow into increasing ownership and leadership over time, we're hiring people who are great executors today and future leaders tomorrow

What Experience We Need

  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software in a SaaS environment

  • Familiarity with backend development (Ruby on Rails and Python are pluses, but not required) and a willingness to learn new technologies quickly

  • Hands-on experience with NLP or LLM-powered features is a plus, especially in domains where accuracy really matters. You bring more than one tool to the table, whether that's NER, ontologies, embeddings, or other approaches that complement LLMs

  • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in all aspects of the developer role, with a focus on growing into an expert in one or more technical domains

  • You have experience working with predefined tasks or projects, with the ability to help more senior team members in defining new tasks and actively contributing as an engaged and collaborative team player.

  • Integrate approved AI tools into daily workflows and critically review AI output for quality, correctness, security, and confidentiality.

If you don’t meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we’d still love to hear from you.
