Accounting Associate

Hi, I’m Jaclyn and I’ve been at Jane for about 8 years. I’m part of the Accounting team, where we help make sure Jane has clear, reliable financial information so leaders across the company can make thoughtful decisions that support our mission to help the helpers.

Our small but mighty Accounting team owns a lot of areas across Jane, including some you might not expect. Any money leaving Jane flows through our team, whether that’s payroll, or paying bills. We also prepare financial statements with one clear goal: presenting clean, clear data so decision makers across Jane understand what’s happening, why it matters, and what to do next.

We don’t think of ourselves as a back office function. We see ourselves as business partners who are here to delight both internal and external stakeholders. This Accounting Associate role is exciting because you’ll be contributing directly to how Jane operates day to day, while also helping us build better, more scalable processes as we grow. You won’t just be maintaining systems - you’ll be learning, improving, and helping shape how we work.

What Impact We’re Looking for You to Make

  • Help close the month faster and more smoothly by supporting accounts payable workflows in Float and ensuring day-to-day transactions are completed with care, accuracy, and follow-through.

  • Maintain reliable and well-organized financial data so the team spends less time fixing issues and more time analyzing what the numbers are telling us.

  • Communicate clearly, kindly, and on time with stakeholders across Jane, helping them understand financial information and feel supported.

  • Document and improve processes so our work becomes more repeatable, scalable, and easier for the team over time.

  • Show curiosity and ownership in your work, asking thoughtful questions, learning quickly, and contributing to a team that continuously raises the bar for quality and clarity.

  • Cross-train on payroll functions within Dayforce to ensure continuity, accuracy, and team coverage.

What Experience We Need

  • Some relevant experience in accounting, or a solid understanding of accounting principles paired with a strong willingness to learn.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment.

  • A high level of integrity and discretion when working with confidential and sensitive information.

  • Curiosity and confidence to question the status quo, with an interest in understanding the why behind the work.

  • An eagerness to learn, seek mentorship, and begin an exciting career path as an accounting professional in the tech industry.

  • Accounting degree and/or CPA designation (or currently working toward) is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

At Jane, we’re committed to paying fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has an annual salary range of $54,400 to $81,600. While that is a large range, it is intentional. It reflects the full growth journey someone might take in the role, from developing skills early on to becoming highly proficient and ultimately achieving excellence.

Most new hires join at the accomplished stage, which for this role represents an annual salary of $64,600. A starting salary below this typically indicates a candidate with strong potential who is still developing key skills. Salaries above this usually apply to existing team members who have made a significant impact and bring deep Jane-specific knowledge.
