Jane is in the business of providing an amazing web-based clinic management software solution for health practitioners, and we’re excited for your skills as a Financial Controller! The Controller supports Jane’s objectives by controlling and maintaining bullet-proof financial information systems and timely and relevant management reporting. The Controller will leverage the resources and tools of the Finance team to archive the desired outcomes.
This position is ideally full time although part-time would be considered if it was the optimum fit with a great candidate. Our office is in North Vancouver however, we are currently all remote due to Covid and will offer the possibility of remote work when we do move back into the office.
Ensure data integrity in Quickbooks, Jane Account Manager (JAM), Carta, financial models and other financial tools.
Collaborate with the CFO in the administration of the Stock Option Plan (JSOP).
Collaborate with the CFO and the Jane leadership team to determine key metrics and reporting requirements both internally and externally.
Ensure that all management reporting is bullet-proof and timely.
Collaborate with KPMG and manage the preparation of working papers for annual financial statements.
Support the CFO as it relates to optimizing relationships with external financial partners including KPMG, federal and regional tax authorities (CRA, IRS, GST, PST, SR&ED consultants, etc.), banks, and shareholders.
Manage compliance and reporting requirements in all applicable jurisdictions.
Responsible for monitoring working capital assets, liabilities and fixed assets.
Collaborate with the CFO to ensure the legal and financial integrity of all contracts including employees, suppliers, contractors, landlords and tenants.
Responsible for maintaining, tracking and auditing all contracts.
Responsible for curating and maintaining a Jane “Data Room” to respond to the diligence requirements of lenders, investors and partners.
Responsible for creating and monitoring policies, procedures, and other processes and operational issues relevant to accounting workflow and financial oversight.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant with experience running all aspects of financial management in a fast-growing business environment.
An accounting designation is mandatory. You are adept at developing effective systems and are an expert with Quickbooks. You are a spreadsheet wizard and you have cross-border and international experience.
The right person is smart, focused and extremely organized. Your attention to detail ensures that the numbers and controls are bullet-proof. You have strong communication and leadership skills that enable you to effectively manage relationships with staff, customers, suppliers and financial partners.
High-tech and start-up experience is an asset.
