Dr. Matt Wiest grew up in Enchant, Alberta, Canada, a small farming community just east of the Rocky Mountains. After high school Matt spent three years in Vancouver playing junior hockey. He then moved to Wisconsin to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin – Superior, where he earned his Bachelor of Exercise Science in Wellness and Fitness Management. Matt continued his education in Davenport, Iowa at Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree. It was through his experience in athletics that Matt’s passion for human optimization grew. Through personal experience, as well as witnessing firsthand numerous teammates seeking solutions where they could take matters into their own hands, Matt knew that this was the direction he was meant to go with his clinical career and small business. Matt is the owner/operator of The Center of Movement in the Twin Cities, MN. It is a group focused on educating and empowering their communities to discover sustainable solutions to support their physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Matt has built his business on community connection. Along with running his rehab/well-being business online and in person, Matt also coaches other professionals on how to leverage short form video and story telling to connect with their audiences and provide accessibility in the health and wellness space to drive revenue to their business remote. Matt discusses how he started his own clinic, The Center of Movement by using community building as one of his main marketing channels. In his free time Matt enjoys hockey, rugby, hiking, yoga, connecting with interesting people, hearing their stories, and spending time with his wife Britny and their daughters Nara + Georgia.
